Blog Posting 101
I am not actually new to blogging. I have a personal blog though blogger that I use basically as a journal–a journal that all my closest friends and family can read. I also have links to my friends’ and family members’ blogs so that I can keep up with what they are all up to. I’m more in touch with my cousins now than I ever was growing up, thanks to the fact that most of them have blogs.
My blog actually started out as my forum to write witty little articles in order to get people to comment and share experiences similar to those I’ve had. (For example, I wrote a lovely post on why Target is such a great store…and my readers responded with their own love of Target and some of the great deals they have gotten there.) But eventually, I ran out of witty topics, and it turns out that my life is entertaining enough to provide a good post topic every month or so, and so the blog morphed into a journal.
Now I am excited to learn how to utilize more of the possibilities that blogs hold for education. I’m planning on creating a class blog for a Seminary class that I will be teaching next year to high school students that I hope will be able to encourage the students to interact and share their thoughts, experiences and resources that they find as they study.
The video above has nothing to do with anything, but I just wanted to practice embedding a video into a post. I’m not quite sure why it’s just coming up as a link instead of little screen inside my blog. Anyone know?
I tried to insert an image, but for some reason, I kept getting an error telling me that my file needed to be more substantial. I was using the flash insert tool because my images don’t have URL addresses. It would download and “crunch” and then the user name login thing appeared, and nothing happened. Any suggestions?
Gotta love blogging!
